One more reason hiding beneath the carpet is the unwillingness of Hindi literary societies to do the work they ought to dom. Instead of exploring more Hindi young writers theyare containing to publish same old writers again and again Sometimes it feels like these societies wait for someone to die before publishing them. A lot of onus of less popularity of Hindi writing goes to these socities. Last week a so called young writers meeting had only some people gathered who were all white haired and awards were given by oldies to oldies under the umbrella of "akhil bhartiya yuva sahityik manch". It's the hunger of popularity which kills the genuineness of good writers and people like Kumar vishwas, ashok vajpayee, ashok chakradhar are using the socities (meant for progress of Hindi writings) to meet their personal agendas.

Thomas Jefferson said it's immoral to leave the next generation with debt. Why would contemporary Presidents of the USA not care?
Thomas Jefferson was obviously a visionary and a brilliant man, but he was wrong about a lot of things. His view of the future America was as a rural agricultural country. He strongly opposed Hamiltons efforts to foster manufacturing, banking and finance. He was quite wealthy, owning a large estate, but he borrowed heavily to live an extravagant lifestyle. He was constantly in debt and hated the bankers. I suspect this colored his thoughts about government debt.
The US has a lot of assets to offset the liability of its debts. What do you think the Interstate Highway system would be worth if it were to be sold to the highest bidders (who would then impose whatever tolls the market would bear)? I suspect trillions. Or the nearly 1 million square miles of land the US owns (28% of the country)? Again, trillions. Or the buildings, dams, ?To the extent that debt is brought on to build infrastructure, invest in education, etc., it usually adds to total wealth. Using debt to finance a crisis like World War II or to shake off an economic depression is also arguably worthwhile. Where it is questionable is when it is used for overconsumption during a time of plenty (as today). When the economy is as strong as it is currently, Id argue we should run surpluses (as we did during the last years of Clintons presidency). That would give us more room to run a deficit to fight the next recession

Why was Ulysses S. Grant vilified as an alcoholic?
Clinically Grant was an abusive drinker. Flat out alkie has been hard to justify, But Grant did drink. When his staff tried to hide the booze hed go visit friendly officers or newpaper men he could share a snort with. When Grant was busy he let it pass. When he was depressed hed fall in a hole and try to destroy himself. Left to himself with nothing to do, there were select stories of him binging. One near fiasco was his visit to Nathaniel Banks in New Orleans after the fall of Vicksburg and Port Hudson. Both men werent busy for the first time in months, and a grand review of the troops turned into a party. Banks had given Grant a hell bent stallion to ride. Grant love fast horses. Under the influence he lead the staff on a wild assed ride back into the city. He collided with a wagon, got dismounted, and some of the party trampled on him. When they got to him he announced that he was paralyzed from the waste down. Fortunately, it was bruising and inflamation and he was fully restored after three weeks. All in all America got a bargain with Grant.
The old story says that dooms sayers went to Lincoln to warn him that Grant couldnt be trusted because he was a drunk.Lincoln supposedly replied, Find out what he drinks. We can give it to the rest of my generals. :D.

Have modern liberals abandoned individualism and embraced collectivism?
Original question Have modern liberals abandoned individualism and embraced collectivism? There are still liberals faithful to the original revolution of the individual against monarchy and the state. They are few in number.Progressives have totally caved to the idea that you can give up individual freedom and enjoy the benefits of the state. But it is an incomplete idea. A reaction to the European Enlightenment .
The most powerful states built the Great Wall, the Pyramids, the great Cathedrals in an effort to give purpose to the masses. It took generations to build those massive projects and for a while the masses were content.I don't see a comparable goal in collective thought. Their giving something for nothing, Keynesian borrowing substituting for using savings, QE substituting for real value, and junk paper for investment are all hollowing out our economy. The great achievement of the American economy is it unleashed individual ambition and created a middle class of unprecedented prosperity.Progressives tell the story differently. That somehow capitalism denies ordinary people their just desserts and somehow elevates the few at the expense of the many.
People are jealous and lack self discipline are susceptible to this drivel and look to the false Prophets of Marx and current day socialists for answers when all they really have is a reactionary solutions to success. All true value is in the individual. When the individual is free and prosperous the nation is strong. This collective vision compromises individual achievement with jealousy and cronyism and corruption. It will become a collective nightmare.

How much do you love your husband? And why?
Well, I dont know. Cannot measure.I love him so much. That even something small which makes him sad. Makes me anxious. I want that smile on his cute face just to be the way it is always. No matter what.I love him so much. That when I think of God. I think God would be just like him. My husband is so patient, so loving and caring. He provides me whatever I want before even I ask. He puts me and my needs before his. Just the way God is.I love him so much. That when I dance in his arms to a slow music. It just feels that the entire world has stopped and it's just him and me. It feels like the feeling when you are on top of a mountain looking at a beautiful view. With the most sweetest wind blowing and you are breathing that air. That calmness is in his arms.I love him so much. That me and him just feels right. My last dying wish would be to meet this wonderful selfless man in all my lives again and again.
I love him so much. That I want him to have all the happiness in this world. He deserves every good thing that exists in this world.I love him so much. That he Is the only achievement of my life. There is nothing beyond him in my life.
My love for my husband is something I cant explain in mere words. It's my luck that I got to meet this wonderful man in my life

Why was Greece ever included in the common Euro currency?
It was a political decision originating from the core of the European Union cabal and the local politicians willingly went along with it. Greece was one of the first EU members and getting excluded from the common currency (after signing the 1992 Maastricht agreement) would not send the most confident message to the stock markets.Of course everyone that mattered knew Greece did not meet the criteria set - but at the time the same was true for Italy, Spain, France and, yes, even Germany. So almost everyone had their numbers .
..creatively fudged, some more than others, the rules got bent and then collectively ignored. Had they not, the Euro would not be possible. And the consensus at the high echelons of the EU was that the Euro had to go through.
Most Greek citizens did not care for the Euro before and certainly we did not care for it after it replaced our national currency. As it did in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal and almost everywhere, the Euro brought nothing but stagnated wages and property values while everything, from gas and clothes to groceries and services tripled in price within a few years.I may not be an expert but all it takes is some sense to question the survival of a common currency that lacks both common fiscal policy and common debt management.

Would Led Zeppelin been as successful if Rod Stewart was the front man instead of Robert Plant as was once suggested?
NNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones are Led Zeppelin. No exceptions (OK, John Bonham's son Jason taking his father's place these days comes pretty close, but still). There is a reason why, after John Bonham died, the other three never recorded or toured as 'Led Zeppelin' again (until Jason started playing with them). The four original members of Led Zeppelin were just magical together. No other combination of artists could ever be that epic again, and they all knew it. Robert Plant was willing to be part of a band, but Rod Stewart is a solo dude. Rod Stewart wants all the attention on him, like your suffocating boyfriend. Robert Plant makes his presence known but remains aloof and keeps his distance. Rod Stewart is a dog who will happily follow you to your crib, wagging his tail the whole way, to get what he wants. Robert Plant is a wolf. He'll do what he wants, but you'll probably never see him do it, and he definitely won't do it because you asked. Rod Stewart is just a dude, like any other. Robert Plant is an enigma. Can you really see "Do ya' think I'm sexy?" Rod Stewart howling the way Robert Plant did on The Immigrant Song?.

Is Sam Harris a fraud?
Yes, he is a fraud. The recent debates between Harris and Jordan Peterson prove it. I dont doubt Harris is smart, and until he came up against an intellectual giant like Peterson maybe he did seem legitimate. But what the Vancouver & Dublin debates showed was how often his points are quite elusive and dont stand up to serious scrutiny when hes debating someone with more confidence in their foundational arguments like Peterson. What Harris is good at is putting on the Sam Harris Show, in which he rattles on incessantly in a clear attempt to win personality points and burn the time of his opponent by skirting the topic for long periods before beginning his answer. His overly verbose, wandering oratory then continues until he has sufficiently maligned the point by using false flags of morality and citing science that is really just regurgitation of his own previously published work. So the crowd claps like hes said something significant and brilliant, when really hes said practically nothing and proven even less.
Peterson, by contrast, is direct and can back his points with concrete historical evidence and research driven data that he himself did not create. Peterson won the debates handily, solidly defending his position in less than half the time that Harris took to say nothing at all.Sam Harris & Jordan Peterson - Vancouver - 1 (CC: Arabic & Spanish)Sam Harris & Jordan Peterson - Vancouver - 2 (CC: Arabic & Spanish)Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson & Douglas Murray - Dublin.
