Why are you still using this therapist? If he's crying, then someone is not doing it right. It is quite obvious that they have not developed a relationship with the child, and you need another therapist right now. It will take him months to recover from this, and you've lost a lot of time. First of all, stop looking at behavior as 'bad', it is what it is, it's a cry for help. Second of all, quit ABA now until you can find a better therapist. Or even better, read up on discrete trial training and do it yourself. If this person is using aversives instead of a reward system, it IS going to suck, it's not as effective and borders on abuse.
